PURPOSE: A method for controlling fan of refrigerator is provided to keep refrigerating efficiency of the refrigerator at optimum condition. CONSTITUTION: A method comprises the steps of: a first step(S1,S2) detecting temperature in a freezer compartment during normal operation of a refrigerator and determining rpm of a freezer compartment fan and a machine room fan based on the detected result; a second step(S3) driving the freezer compartment fan and the machine room fan at the rpm determined in the first step for fixed time; a third step(S4) detecting temperature in the freezer compartment after completion of driving of the fans in the second step and determining whether temperature in the freezer compartment reaches appropriate level; and a fourth step(S5) driving the freezer compartment fan and the machine room fan at rpm corresponding with temperature in the freezer compartment detected in the third step when temperature in the freezer compartment is determined not reaching the appropriate level in the third step.
