PURPOSE: A call service method using a character ID and a device therefor are provided to register a user's ID and the user's telephone numbers for incoming in a communication service system, and to interpret an inputted character ID of the other party and carry out a call forwarding service to a communication terminal with the user's telephone number mapping with the corresponding character ID. CONSTITUTION: If a user inputs a character ID of the other party to call and presses a send button(301), the character ID is delivered to a switching part of a communication service system by way of a communication network(302). The switching part reads the character ID from delivered information(303) and delivers the read character ID to a controller. The controller requests an actual telephone number for call forwarding corresponding to a character ID read from a subscriber information database(304). The subscriber information database checks the actual telephone number corresponding to the character ID for delivery to the controller(305). And the controller controls the switching part to carry out call forwarding to the telephone number of the other party(306). |
