1,037,185. Watering hay. MASSEYFERGUSON Inc. May 13, 1963 [May 14, 1962], No. 18776/63. Heading A2B. A uniform mixture of the chopped stems and leaves of hay is delivered through a shoot 28 to a hopper 32 and fed threfrom by an auger 52 into a chamber 50; vanes 54 there lay the hay along the entrance ends of die cells 70 and rollers 58, following the vanes compress the hay into die cells to form extrusions of compact hay which, upon successive applications of pressure from the rollers 58, are forced into curing cells 80. On emergence from the curing cells the extrusions are broken into wafers by engagement with break-off tabs 102; the wafers, which fall through an opening 104, are removed by an elevator-type conveyer 106.
