PURPOSE: An illuminating system cooling apparatus is provided to reduce parts count and manufacturing cost by allowing one of the fan motor and the bulb motor to drive both the cooling fan and the bulb. CONSTITUTION: An illuminating system cooling apparatus comprises a magnetron(2) mounted within a casing(1), and which generates microwave; a high voltage generator(3) mounted within the casing, and which supplies high voltage power to the magnetron; an electric bulb(5) mounted within a resonator(6) arranged outside the casing, and which is excited by the microwave and emits light from the material encapsulated in the electric bulb; a cooling fan(8b) mounted to the casing, and which cools the magnetron and the high voltage generator arranged in the casing; a fan motor(8b) coupled to the cooling fan, and which generates rotating force; and a motor unit for rotating the electric bulb by transferring rotating force generated from the fan motor.
