PURPOSE: A wireless upgrade apparatus for an FPGA(Field Programmable Gate Array) EEPROM(Electrically Erasable and Programmable ROM) and a method therefor are provided to upgrade the EEPROM used as an FPGA configuration memory by wireless. CONSTITUTION: A base station(100) transmits EEPROM data and version information to a terminal(200) by wireless. The terminal(200) has a DRAM(220) for temporarily storing the EEPROM data and version information transmitted from the base station(100), and a CPU(210) for retrieving version information temporarily stored in the DRAM(220) and controlling an EEPROM(230) so that the EEPROM data are updated as the transmitted data in case that the version of the transmitted data is higher than a current data version of the EEPROM(230). The terminal(200) has the EEPROM(230) for storing the EEPROM data and updating currently stored data as the transmitted EEPROM data by the control of the CPU(210), and an FPGA(240) for being reconfigured by the data stored in the EEPROM(230).
