PURPOSE: A reference voltage generation circuit for generating a programmable reference voltage according to an external code and a method for arraying the same are provided to supply stably levels of the reference voltage from each inside of chips by improving a structure of the reference voltage generation circuit. CONSTITUTION: A binary-to-thermometer(302) converts binary codes provided from the outside and generates thermometer codes. A reference voltage generation portion(304) generates a reference voltage(Vref) in response to the thermometer codes. A selection portion(306) selects one of an internal reference voltage(Vref_in) an external reference voltage(Vref_out) in response to a reference voltage selection signal(Vref_in_en). A voltage regulator(308) receives the reference voltage selected by the selection portion(306). The voltage regulator(308) feeds back an output signal of the voltage and generates the reference voltage(Vref).
