METHOD FOR PROVIDING MPEG-4 BASED SPATIAL IMAGE INFORMATION SERVICE

PURPOSE: A method for providing an MPEG-4 based spatial image information service is provided to enable users to watch spatial image information by using an MPEG codec without an extra program, thereby improving a map information service. CONSTITUTION: A method for providing an MPEG-4 based spatial image information service includes the steps of equipping a middleware server between a spatial image information server and an MPEG-4 sever; the middleware server's requesting spatial image information and related additional information to the spatial image information server according to a request of a user for map information, thereby receiving the image information and related additional information from the spatial image information server(301-303); requesting the MPEG-4 sever to generate BIFS(BInary Format Screen) information to encode the spatial image information and link the encoded spatial image information with the related additional information(304-306); and the middleware server's providing the generated BIFS information to users(307).
