BACILLUS THURINGIENSIS K-1 ISOLATED FROM THE SOIL AND MICROBIAL INSECTICIDE USING THE SAME

PURPOSE: Bacillus thuringiensis K-1 isolated from the soil and a microbial insecticide using the same are provided, thereby producing the microbial insecticide having improved insecticidal activity. CONSTITUTION: The Bacillus thuringiensis K-1(KCTC 18078P) is isolated by the steps of: sampling soil and inserting the soil sample into distilled water; heating the soil solution in 65 deg. C water for 30 minutes; spreading the heated soil solution on a nutrient agar medium and culturing it at 27 deg. C for 5 days; recovering colonies; and selecting a colony producing an endotoxin protein. The microbial insecticide containing the Bacillus thuringiensis K-1(KCTC 18078P) exhibits improved insecticidal activity for lepidoptera.
