PURPOSE: Provided is a reduction method of virulence in tobacco which places a member for reducing virulence including mugwort components in the tobacco so that it contributes to reduce virulence in the tobacco. CONSTITUTION: The reduction method of virulence in the tobacco(10) is characterized by combining a capped member(21) for reducing virulence with compressed mugwort(21a) filled with the upper edge of the tobacco, in which the member for reducing virulence is fired and shifted to the tobacco, the compressed mugwort is burned before igniting the tobacco and then the smoke of mugwort is passed through the inner tobacco to reduce the virulence of the tobacco.
