A climate control system (402) suitable for use in a motor vehicle comprises a GPS system (404), a data transceiver (404), a processor (200) and a HVAC system (406). The GPS system (404) is arranged to receive a position location signal from a GPS satellite system (410). The data transceiver (404) is arranged to receive data indicative of weather conditions from a weather satellite (410). The processor (200) determines the weather conditions ahead of the vehicle (400) using the position location signal and the data. The processor (200) also controls the HVAC system (406) in order to alter the in vehicle temperature in response to weather conditions at said future location of the vehicle (400).
