The invention relates to the use of a peptide containing at least the Lysine-Proline-Valine (KPV) sequence, or of a functional equivalent of one such peptide, in a composition intended to improve the skin barrier function. The invention also relates to a cosmetic treatment method designed to improve the skin barrier function by the application to the skin of compositions comprising a peptide containing at least the Lysine-Proline-Valine (KPV) sequence or a functional equivalent of one such peptide.
