A transmission/reception apparatus capable of decoding a high−quality sound.A cellular telephone 1011 encodes sound data and outputs the encoded sound data.Furthermore,the cellular telephone 1011 learns quality improving data to improve the sound output from a cellular telephone 1012 according to the sound data used for the previous learning and new sound data input and transmits the encoded sound data and the quality improving data.The cellular telephone 1012 receives the coded sound data transmitted from the cellular telephone 1011 and selects quality improving data related to the telephone number of the cellular telephone 1011.The cellular telephone 1012 decodes the received encoded sound data according to the selected quality improving data.The present invention can be applied to a cellular telephone transmitting/receiving a sound.
