The present invention relates to a method for treating or preventing an inflammatory disease or condition in a patient in need thereof comprising concomitantly administering to said patient a PPAR&agr; agonist and a glucocorticoid in amounts that are effective to treat or prevent the inflammatory disease or condition. Pharmaceutical compositions for treating or preventing an inflammatory disease or condition are also encompassed.
