Automatic filling of electronic forms collected from the World Wide Web, identifies fill in zones in Web page and determines correct orthography for word(s) in zone(s)

Method (100) for automatically filling a form for a computer user which includes identification (120) of one or more zones in the form, and; automatically deliver (130) information concerning the identified zone(s) without user intervention; determine (120) the correct orthography of one or more words associated with the zone(s); determine a synonym for the word(s) associated with the zone(s) Other stages comprise determine (120) the identity of the zone(s) on the basis of respective similarity between each zone and a previously memorized zone; collect (110) pages of data from the World Wide Web (Web); read the source code for the Web page, and; determine the zones on the basis of indicators linked to markers; capture an image of the Web page; identify a text by executing an optical recognition operation on the image characters; identify input zone frames by executing edge analysis on the image, and; determine coordinates of the frame(s) identified as input zones. An Independent claim is also included for an automatic form filling system.
