SCHWANN CELLS ORIGINATING IN MYELOID INTERSTITIAL CELLS

It is intended to provide a method of differentiating and inducing in vitro myeloid interstitial cells into Schwann cells originating in the myeloid interstitial cells which comprises the following steps: collecting myeloid interstitial cells from bone marrow and then culturing them in a medium prepared by adding serum to a standard fundamental medium; adding a reducing agent to the liquid culture and then continuing the culture; adding a differentiation inducing agent to the liquid culture and then continuing the culture; and adding a cyclic AMP−elevating agent or a cyclic AMP analog and/or a gliacyte differentiation survive functional factor to the liquid culture and continuing the culture to thereby give the Schawann cells originating in the myeloid interstitial cells. Also, the thus obtained Schawann cells originating in the myeloid interstitial cells and medicinal compositions for nerve reconstruction containing the same are provided.
