<p>A pressure sensitive one-way valve (1) to control the release of pressurized gas from a sealed container (2) wherein the sealed container (2) has at least one venting aperture (3) therein. The valve comprises a first layer of flexibly resilient material (4) having an upper surface and a lower surface. At least the periphery (22) of the lower surface of the first layer is adhered to the outer surface (6) of the container (2) and at least a portion of the interior (23) of the lower surface is separable from the outer surface (6) of the container (2). The separable portion (23) and the portion of the outer surface of the container adjacent thereto forming an expansion chamber (7) that is in communication with the venting apertures (3) such that passage of gas through the venting aperture (3) causes expansion of the expansion chamber (7). The expansion chamber (7) also has a gas release aperture (12) extending therethrough. The valve (1) also comprises a second layer of flexibly resilient material (5) at least partially covering the first layer (4) with a portion (8) of the second layer (5) adhered to the first layer and a portion of the second layer separable from the first layer (4). The separable portion (9) of the second layer (5) forms a gas exiting passageway (17) that is in communication with the gas release aperture (12) extending through the expansion chamber (7) permitting the flow of gas out of the valve (1) into the environmement.</p> |
