<p>A system for containing or excluding oil and other water surface contaminants is provided. More specifically, the invention comprises a manufactured floating boom (10) consisting of an outer tube (20) designed to be filled with water and an inner tube (30) designed to be filled with air. The resulting device is designed to enable it to be coupled together with other like devices in order to form a lengthy barrier for the containment or exclusion of oil and other water surface contaminants. The boom (10) can also be used in conjunction with skimmers (120) to act as a temporary storage facility for the contaminants.</p> |
