METHOD OF SURFACE TREATMENT OF THERMOPLASTIC RESIN FILM

A method of surface treatment of a thermoplastic resin film(i)comprising the steps of subjecting the surface of a thermoplastic resin film(i)to an oxidation treatment,applying a surface modifying agent(A)thereon,and stretching the film,characterized in that the surface modifying agent(A)is an aqueous dispersion comprising water and an olefin copolymer(a)having an unsaturated carboxylic acid or its anhydride bonded thereto which is dispersed in the water by the use of at least one selected from the group consisting of a nonionic surfactant,a nonionic water−soluble polymer,a cationic surfactant and a cationic water−soluble polymer as a dispersant(b),wherein the weight ratio of(a)/(b)in terms of solids is 100/1 to 100/30 and the resin particles contained in the surface modifying agent(A)have an average particle diameter of 5μm or less.The method of surface treatment can be employed for providing a thermoplastic resin film which exhibits good printability for thermal transfer printing and offset printing and can afford a printed matter having excellent water resistance.
