The invention relates to a test plate for motor vehicles with measuring devices which are embodied in such a way as to determine forces arising between the wheel of a motor vehicle and the test plate when the vehicle drives on said test plate and braking occurs, e.g. a vertically active force which is associated with the weight of the vehicle and a force which is associated with the braking and which acts in the direction of travel i.e. generally in a horizontal manner and in the longitudinal direction of the test plate, in addition to a horizontal force acting in a transversal direction. The invention is characterised in that the test plate has a modifiable surface, enabling adjustment of at least two different friction or gripping states between the wheel and the test plate or in that the test plate is moveably arranged at least in a longitudinal direction counter to a resistance and/or by means of an active drive mechanism in order to adjust at least two different friction or gripping states. It is thus possible to test ESP, ABS, ASR and GMR systems.
