The invention relates to a tube pack closure element comprised of a longitudinally extended closure element strip (10), which is provided with a pinching fillet (12) that is continuous in a longitudinal direction and with a pinching slot (14) that is also continuous in a longitudinal direction whereby extending parallel to the pinching fillet (12). The cross-section of the pinching slot (14) and the cross-section of the pinching fillet (12) are, in essence, complementary to one another whereby enabling the pinching fillet (12) to be inserted into the pinching channel (14) in order to form a pinching ring. Detent elements (20, 21) that act in a longitudinal direction are provided on the pinching fillet (12) and/or on the pinching channel (14) whereby preventing the strip (10), which is fastened together in order to form a pinching ring, from being pulled apart. By virtue of the fact that the closure element can be fastened together to form a closed ring, a flexible material such as plastic can also be chosen for use as a closure element material that, with regard to its non-toxicity, resistance to corrosion, etc., can be better adapted to the respective requirements.
