<p>A biological specimen cassette (22) adapted to be installed with similarly constructed cassettes as a package in a cassette dispenser (12) from which cassettes are thereafter dispensed individually comprises a channel (44) formed in at least one of its walls to receive a connecting element, such as band, string or wire (24), which, when engaged to all cassettes, form a collective stacked arrangement of cassettes which is insertable into the cassette dispenser (12).
