The GPS (Global Positioning System) module is mounted on a standard data storage card. The necessary electronic components such as the memory module, the GPS module, the central control module and the required integrated antenna are all located on the chip card. Preferably power is supplied via the electronic device into which the card is inserted. Position and time information can be saved e.g. by pressing an integrated push button.
