The invention relates to a method for automatically bringing together webs (01 to 06) (strand formation) when drawing the webs into a web-fed rotary press. According to the invention, the web is simultaneously conveyed by additional conveying means (26 to 29; 31 to 34), e.g. suction belt systems, while a slitting device (71) separates the web from the draw-in means. The invention also relates to a corresponding device.
