The device has a number of light emitting semiconducting chips mounted on a conducting track structure (2) and a common optical body (4) arranged in front of them in the radiation direction. The optical body is permanently joined to the conducting track structure and forms a bearer element for the light emitting semiconducting chips and their conducting track structure. AN Independent claim is also included for a method of manufacturing the lighting device.
