The method involves combining individual drive units for various driven units (01-04,16) in the machine to be connected together via mechanical couplings for the purpose of synchronization. The drive motors (06-09,17) are regulated on the basis of torques (M1-M4) measured within the drive train so that the torques between adjacent units along the connected drive train have the same torque flow direction for the duration of a production condition. AN Independent claim is also included for the following: a printing machine drive with several units.
