The invention relates to a method, and a device for carrying out the method, for air-conditioning a showcase used to display objects. Said showcase comprises an inner space (4) which is more or less hermetically closed to the outside, and the objects are situated on a supporting surface (2) and can be seen from outside through the glass panels of the lateral surfaces (3), said glass panels fully or partially enclosing the inner space (4). The invention is characterised in that the air in the inner space is cooled by being guided through an exchanger (8) which is closely related to a cooling device in terms of the temperature transition. Said exchanger (8) is operated in such a way that the difference between the higher temperature of the air in the inner space (4) and the lower temperature of the exchanger (8) is continuously maintained at a value below the dew point of the air in the inner space (4), preventing the formation of condensation water in the exchanger (8).
