Power transmission connecting rod

The connecting rod for transmitting the movement of an IC engine piston to a crankshaft has a head (12) made in one piece. The head has two diametrically opposed lines of weakness (36, 38) allowing it to be separated into an upper cap (26) and a base and mounted around the crankshaft pin. The lines of weakness are staggered vertically so that cap and body can only be assembled when aligned correctly.
