An object of the present invention is to provide a door handle assembling construction in which the cost can be reduced without decreasing the work efficiency. To achieve the above object, a grip portion 32 is provided with a base portion 31 at one end and a case portion 33 at the other end. The grip portion 32 has an arm portion 32a, and the case portion 33 has a hole 33g and a wall portion 33f for receiving the arm portion 32a. The wall portion 33f is provided with a stopper portion 33c, and the arm portion 32a is provided with a corner portion 32d. The grip portion 32 is subjected to an urging force in the direction of being brought close to the case portion 33. In the state in which an outside handle 3 is not installed to a door outer panel 5, the grip portion 32 is pulled out of the case portion 33, and when the case portion 33 is tilted with respect to the grip portion 32 as compared with the state in which the outside handle 3 is installed to the door outer panel 5, the corner portion 32d of the arm portion 32a engages with the stopper portion 33c, by which the grip portion 32 is made in a temporarily held state. When the tilt angle is returned, the engagement is released.
