A hand lamp comprises a bulb-receiving socket 20 which is formed in one with a reflector 21 and has an inwardly extending skirt 25 within which is a contact cylinder 26 having a flange 27 contacting a flange 28 on the lamp bulb 29, and a contact strip 32 passing out through a slot in the skirt 25 to form a contact tag. The skirt fits into a member 33 having flanges 37 carrying contact strips 42, 43 which engage opposite poles of the batteries 57. The strip 42 has a shaped end to engage the end terminal of the bulb. The strip 43 is bent at right angles and formed with a V-shaped portion 51 engaging a pin 53 carried by a sliding switch member 54, movement of which depresses the free end of the strip 43 to bring it into contact with the strip 32. The casing consists of a body part 11 and a cap 12 having a lens 18 carried in a groove between two beads 16, 17, the edge of the reflector also fitting into the groove. The reflector consists of two arcuate surfaces 22 joined by flat side pieces 23 formed with a semicircular series of striations 24. |
