Computer-based ordering system for completion of an order from at least one customer (2) with a supplier (3) via the intermediary of a central server (1) over a computer network, especially the internet, whereby the customer has an offline database with products and price data offered by the supplier, which is periodically updated via a database interface in the central server. An Independent claim is made for a computer based ordering method whereby the customer has an offline local database that contains supplier product and price details. The customer selects a virtual shopping basket of products he wishes to order and then goes online, so that any special offers (12) or price changes can be applied.
