The control circuit has an envelope curve generator (1) for generating an envelope curve for the change in the output signal of a deflection sensor (CHupe) that measures the deflection of the membrane. A stimulation arrangement (LHupe) is driven depending on the profile of the envelope curve. AN Independent claim is also included for the following: a method of driving an acoustic signal generator.
