Gas cleaning system using fluidised bed - esp for treatment of air streams from paint spray booths

Particles are removed from air stream by passage through a fluidised bed of solid bodies, pref. sand grains, expanded clay granules, expanded slag, foamed polystyrene spheres or light spherical plastics bodies, e.g. ping pong balls. Bodies in any give bed type have narrow size range. Process is suited to removal of paint spary from air, and does not required treatment of an aq. effluent as in wet processes.
