APPARATUS AND METHOD FOR WRITING AND READING DIGITAL BROADCAST DATA

PURPOSE: An apparatus and a method for writing and reading digital broadcast data are provided to write digital broadcast formed in a peculiar format such as DirecTV transmission streams at a recording medium with a device such as HD-VDR, or read the digital broadcast with the device. CONSTITUTION: An apparatus for writing and reading digital broadcast data includes a time stamp generating element(11) generating packet arrival time of transmission packets based on reference time stamp included in the transmission packets of digital broadcast signals received from the outside; a time stamp inserting element(13) inserting the generated packet arrival time into a head of the transmission packets; and a transforming element(14) subdividing data streams having the inserted packet arrival time, additionally writing header information at subdivided data streams by the unit, and transforming into the transmission packets in the predetermined write size.
