PURPOSE: A method for collectively executing a finalizing operation of an optical disk device is provided to easily finalize data recording without waiting for completing a record operation. CONSTITUTION: A method for collectively executing a finalizing operation of an optical disk device includes the steps of receiving a request for record from a user(S10), deciding execution of a collective finalizing operation according to the size of record data and the size of a recordable area(S11), executing the requested record operation(S12), completing the requested data record(S13), deciding collective execution of the finalizing operation(S20), executing the finalizing operation through a key input of the user if the decision is made not to execute the collective finalizing operation(S21), automatically executing the finalizing operation if the decision is made to execute the collective finalizing operation(S30), and recording TOC(Table of Contents) at a lead-in area(S31).
