PURPOSE: A heat exchanger support structure for duct type air conditioner is provided to prevent damage of drain pan caused due to the heat exchanger when the air conditioner is installed in a horizontal direction. CONSTITUTION: A heat exchanger support structure comprises a case(52) having an inlet(54) and an outlet; a blower(10) installed within the case, which sucks and blows air; a heat exchanger(64) interposed between the blower and the inlet of the case, which performs heat exchange operation to the air sucked by the blower; a vertical drain pan for collecting the condensed water falling from the heat exchanger when the case is installed in a vertical direction; a horizontal drain pan(70) for collecting the condensed water falling from the heat exchanger when the case is installed in a horizontal direction; and a support unit(80) interposed between the heat exchanger and the horizontal drain pan, which allows the heat exchanger to be supported by the horizontal drain pan when the case is installed in a horizontal direction.
