PURPOSE: A method for controlling alternative value of an intake temperature in case of an intake temperature sensor trouble is provided to converge data about the intake temperature in case of intake temperature sensor trouble to the intake temperature of normal operation. CONSTITUTION: A method for controlling alternative value of an intake temperature in case of an intake temperature sensor trouble comprises steps of deciding an intake temperature sensor is broken down(S1); setting the initial value of the alternative value of the intake temperature to coolant temperature in starting, if the intake temperature sensor is broken down(S4); periodically increasing the set alternative value of the intake temperature as the predetermined temperature change; setting the increased alternative value of the intake temperature to the upper limit, if the increased alternative value of the intake temperature is over the preset upper limit; measuring the speed of a vehicle(S12); setting the decrease limit and decrease change value of the alternative value of the intake temperature by a correction map as the speed of the vehicle after correcting the alternative value of the intake temperature as the coolant temperature; and reducing the alternative value of the intake temperature up to the decrease limit periodically corresponding to the speed of the vehicle.
