PURPOSE: A dedifferentiation inhibitor of chondrocytes or redifferentiation stimulator of dedifferentiated chondrocytes containing ERK or an MEK activity inhibitor as a direct higher signaling molecule thereof as an effective ingredient, methods for screening thereof and methods for preparing chondrocytes using the stimulator are provided. Therefore, chondrocytes necessary for cell treatment and tissue engineering used for regeneration of damaged cartilage tissue is mass-produced and those inhibitors and stimulators are also effectively screened. CONSTITUTION: The dedifferentiation inhibitor of chondrocytes or redifferentiation stimulator of dedifferentiated chondrocytes contains extracellular signal regulated protein kinase(ERK) or an MEK(MAP kinase) activity inhibitor as a direct higher signaling molecule thereof. The ERK is selected from the group consisting of ERK-1, ERK-2 and ERK variants having 95% homology in an amino acid sequence thereof and the MEK is MEK-1, KEK-2 and MEK variants having 95% homology in an amino acid sequence thereof.
