PURPOSE: A device for selecting a hard disk is provided to select a hard disk including a wanted operating system through an operation of a switching unit and boot a computer by executing the operating system. CONSTITUTION: A main board(2) which receives a power source from a power source unit(1) supplies a power and boots a computer when an external power switch(7) is turned off. For the above operation, the main board(2) and the power switch(7) are connected by a power switch cable(8). An additional auxiliary power switch cable(20) is fetched from a power switch jack(6) for fixing the power switch cable(8) in the main board(2) except the power switch cable(8). The fetched auxiliary power switch cable(20) is entered into a switching unit(10). The switching unit(10) is installed in a midway of a power cable(5) which is fetched in the power source unit(1) and entered into 'A' hard disk(3) and 'B' hard disk(4) including different operating system, respectively. The switching unit(10) is operated in an exterior, and a power source is connected to one out of two hard disks(3,4). If the 'A' hard disk(3) is selected by operating the switching unit(10), the user presses the power switch(7), supplies a power source to the main board(2), and a boot is performed. If the 'B' hard disk(4) is selected, a boot is performed promptly without operating the power switch(7). A pair of plumbum terminals are provided in the switching unit(10) for applying a power to a booting line of the main board(2) when each element of the auxiliary power switch cable(20) is connected and the 'B' hard disk(4) is selected by operating the switching unit(10).
