PURPOSE: A linear motion apparatus of a tray for a microwave oven is provided to heat the large amount of food evenly, and to make the best use of space by moving the rectangular tray linearly according to rotation of an eccentric protrusion. CONSTITUTION: A linear motion device of a tray(10) for a microwave oven is composed of the rectangular tray putting food on a cavity; a driving motor(M) generating rotational force; a converting unit converting rotation of the driving motor into linear reciprocating motion of the tray; and a supporting unit between the lower part of the cavity and the tray for linear reciprocation motion of the tray. The converting unit has a groove(10a) formed in the lower part, and a rotating member(22) including an eccentric protrusion(22a) inserted to the groove. The space of the cavity is used efficiently by linearly moving the tray in turning the rotating member.
