<p>A method and apparatus for disposing of sewage is disclosed. An aqueous sewage liquor 1 is separated from raw sewage and blended with a non-aqueous liquid carrier fuel 2. The blended fuel is supplied to the combustion chamber(s) of a compression ignition engine 7. Air is also supplied to the combustion chamber(s) so that the blended fuel, containing sewage, may be disposed of by combustion. The air may be enriched with oxygen. Preferably, means 10,11 are also provided to control and abate prescribed substances in the exhaust gas.</p> |
