PURPOSE: A semiconductor memory device and a method for setting up data fetch timing of a system using the same are provided to set up correctly data fetch timing of read data outputted from the semiconductor memory device by using a mode setup register and a data input/output driver. CONSTITUTION: A mode setup register(10) receives data from drivers(L1 to Ln) in response to a mode setup command(MRS), arranges the data in parallel, and outputs the data, serially. A data input/output driver(20) includes the data drivers(L1 to Ln) and receives data from data input/output pins. The data drivers(L1 to Ln) have inverters(I1) for inverting the received data and outputting the inverted data to the mode setup register(10). In addition, the data drivers(L1 to Ln) have inverters(I2) for inverting output data of the mode setup register(10) in response to a clock signal(CLK) and outputting the inverted data to the data input/output pins.
