PURPOSE: A method and device for displaying data in an automatic client on a network is provided to enable a user to receive contents data automatically, constitute the contents data by user-wanted data, and make the contents data be selected automatically and received to the user. CONSTITUTION: A service engine selects contents which are forecasted for being wanted by a user from a contents server and transmits the contents a contents data receiving unit(2-1). The contents data receiving unit receives the contents and watches the contents(2-2). If the user describes a kind of wanted contents through a contents selection unit(2-3,2-4), the contents order is informed to the service engine(2-5). A contents server is searched in a contents search engine based on the order, and a user wanted contents list is created through a search of a contents database.
