APPARATUS AND METHOD FOR TRANSMITTING AND RECEIVING DATA IN CDMA MOBILE COMMUNICATION SYSTEM

PURPOSE: An apparatus and a method for transmitting and receiving data in a CDMA mobile communication system are provided to improve capacity of a system by assigning weight values according to reliability of data bits. CONSTITUTION: A CRC(Cyclic Redundancy Check) portion(402) adds CRC to input data. A channel encoder(404) receives and encodes the data including CRC from the CRC portion(402). A rate matching portion(406) performing a rate matching operation. A distributor(408) distributes systematic bits and parity bits into the first and the second interleavers(410,412). The first and the second interleavers(410,412) are used for interleaving encoded bits of the distributor(408). A reliability decision portion(414) receives the encoded bits from the first and the second interleavers(410,412) and decides reliability assigned to the encoded bits. A parallel/serial conversion portion(416) receives the encoded bits in parallel and outputs the encoded bits, serially. A modulation portion(418) performs a process for mapping the encoded bits to predetermined symbols. A control portion(420) controls all operations.
