The invention relates to a mechanically operated safety device meant for locking the house doors and for other similar purposes.The device comprises a guiding bushing (2) accommodating an intermediate piece (4) resting on a spring (5) and axially rotatable and movable inside the guiding bushing (2). The intermediate piece (4) is provided at both ends with two profiled spindles (b and c). The intermediate piece (4) is connected through the first profiled spindle (b) with a detachable profiled key (3) inserted from outside the house, and through the second profiled spindle (c), the intermediate piece (4) is temporarily connected with a main shaft (6) integral with a toothed wheel (8) which is geared with an intermediate toothed wheel (9) which makes the lock (12) provided with a rack bar (e) move in both directions. The device is operated from inside the house by means of an inside key (13) also having a profiled rod (f), which also engages the main shaft (6) through an orifice conjugated with the rod (f).
