A swinging electronic hockey target is a used to allow a modified game of hockey to be played when a goalie is unavailable to play in that hockey game. The Swinging electronic hockey target consists of a solid plastic target element, a flexible cable and electronics capable of generating an audio alert to the players when the target element is struck. The target element is suspend ed by means of its flexible cable from two separated points on the target element and tied to t he horizontal cross bar of the goal in which the invention resides. The invention can be placed at any desired point in the mouth of the goal. It will reset itself automatically after being struck by puck or hockey ball allowing the fast moving game of hockey to proceed unimpeded.
