A method of forming a vehicle tire component member capable of providing an excellent set accuracy for a band−shaped member of a specified length to a molding drum and an excellent space efficiency with a simple mechanism and at a low cost,comprising the steps of sticking the band−shaped member(3)of a specified length formed in specified length and width on a transfer drum(12)larger in diameter than the molding drum(11),moving the transfer drum(12)having the band−shaped member(3)of a specified length stuck thereon and the forming drum(11)close to each other to hold the tip of the band−shaped member(3)of a specified length between both drums(11)and(12),rotating the transfer drum(12)and the molding drum(11)in the directions reverse to each other at a same peripheral velocity to transfer the band−shaped member(3)of a specified length from the transfer drum(12)onto the molding drum(11),and connecting the tip of the band−shaped member(3)of a specified length transferred onto the molding drum(11)to the rear thereof to form the tire component member(4)on the molding drum(11). |
