The invention relates to coatings for various types of substrate, whereby a hydrophilic polymer layer is bonded to a substrate by means of a polymer bonding agent layer. The invention also relates to a method for the production of said layer system. The inventive layers can be used, for example, as an immobilisation matrix, and to suppress non-specific protein adsorption in biosensors, MALDI targets and other bioanalytical appliances. Said layers can also be used to make implants biocompatible and to coat contact lenses. Optical elements provided with said coatings no longer steam up. Furthermore, the layers are dirt-repelling or self-cleaning. |
