PURPOSE: A double mesh preventive apparatus of a manual transmission is provided to restrict a control finger from being engaged with a shift lug doubly by modifying the shape and the installation position, and to increase the productivity by assembling and disassembling the double mesh preventive unit simply. CONSTITUTION: A shift mechanism for a manual transmission is composed of a control shaft installed in a transaxle case to move linearly or rotate in receiving operational force of a shift lever; a control finger combined with the control shaft by fitting; plural shift lugs engaged with the control finger selectively to actuate a synchronizer; and a double engagement preventive unit having a fitting sill(55) constraining rotation of the control finger in engaging the control finger with the shift lug doubly. The double engagement preventive unit has a plate(52) combined with the transaxle case, a wall(54) protruded upward in the plate and inserted between shift lugs, and a groove(53) formed in the wall to move the control finger linearly in operating the shift lever. The productivity is increased with assembling and disassembling the double engagement preventive unit conveniently.
