METHOD OF ASSIGNING ATM RESOURCES IN IMT-2000 SYSTEM

PURPOSE: A method of assigning ATM resources in an IMT-2000 system is provided to previously assign VCs(Virtual Circuits) to an ATM end point by a call processor, and to immediately transmit control information data transmitted between ATM nodes to a destination ATM node by connecting the VCs, thereby reducing a call setup delay time and load of the ATM node. CONSTITUTION: An MCCA(Master Clock Control board Assembly) transmits a call setup request message to a BCP(Basic Call Processor)(S101). The BCP transmits the call setup request message to a CCP(Call Control Processor)(S102). The CCP transmits a resource assignment request message to the BCP(S103). The BCP transmits a resource assignment message to the MCCA(S104). The BCP transmits a resource assignment request reply message to the CCP(S105). The CCP transmits an ATM resource assignment request message to an LRP(Location Registration Processor)(S106). The LRP transmits an ATM resource assignment message to an AMB(S107). The LRP transmits the ATM resource assignment message to an ATM OC-3(S108). The MCCA transmits an AAL2 ATM cell to a BAIA(S109). The BAIA transmits the AAL2 ATM cell to the AMB(S110). The AMB transmits the AAL2 ATM cell to the ATM OC-3(S111). The ATM OC-3 transmits the AAL2 ATM cell to an EVIA(S112).
