The invention concerns an active coupling element for coupling a light signal to a waveguide optical component, said light signal (21) having a first wavelength range, and the optical component (33) comprising at least an input waveguide (35) associated with a second wavelength range, said active coupling element (20) being designed to receive the light signal and emit a light wave (23) in a third wavelength range included at least partly in said second range. The invention also concerns an optical structure comprising such an active coupling element and is particularly useful for producing a structure including an optical component such as an optical amplifier, a spectrum inverter or a frequency converter.
